Independent Contractor/Group Facilitator
The Center for Humanistic Change (CHC) seeks Independent Contractors/Group Facilitators to lead a variety of life skills and different programs for youth and adults in the Lehigh Valley. For a full list of our current programs, please go to http://www.thechc.org/programs/full-program-listing.html.
Our independent contractors deliver services based on their specific professional education, training, and experience, as well as their ability to provide services independently. Key skills include:
• Ability to engage and retain program participants through a variety of educational strategies.
• Knowledge of and experience with interactive/experiential learning models and with managing group dynamics.
• Willingness to serve as a role model for participants, especially concerning behaviors and attitudes that relate to CHC program topics.
• Understanding of and respect for each individual’s rights and differences in learning styles, background, beliefs, and values.
• High standard of professionalism in all aspects of delivering CHC programs.
• Transportation to and from program facilities. If contractor is using own automobile for transportation, contractor must maintain the minimum automobile insurance as required by law.
• Commitment to ongoing cultivation of skills and knowledge in relevant fields, including substance use and other prevention topics, facilitation techniques, child development, child welfare, and current best practices in group dynamics and facilitation.

Manager of Community Outreach & Prevention Programs
The Center for Humanistic Change, Inc. seeks a full-time Manager of Community Outreach & Prevention Programs to establish and maintain outreach to diverse communities in the Lehigh Valley. The manager will deliver alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention as well as life skills programming to youth and adults in settings that best meet the needs of unique communities. In addition, the Manager will report to and work with the Director of Prevention and Student Assistance Programs to further enhance the quality of all programming to diverse populations.
CHC is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse faculty committed to teaching and working in a multicultural environment that promotes and advocates for diversity and inclusion. Candidates must have a minimum of: 1) a Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, family counseling, school counseling, psychology, or a related academic discipline and substance abuse prevention or treatment experience; 2) 3-5 years’ experience in community outreach, the building of collaborations, and working with community and educational systems; and, 3) speak Spanish fluently. Ideal candidates need to demonstrate the ability to work independently and with a team, manage deadlines for paperwork and electronic data entry, relate well to youth and adults to be successful in this position. Excellent judgment, attention to detail, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation and facilitation skills, and proficiency in MS Office are required for this position. Juggling deadlines, thinking outside the box, adapting to new situations, remaining current with new trends in prevention and technology, and the ability and willingness to learn new skills are essential to success in this position.
In addition to availability during normal business and school hours, applicants must be flexible to provide weekend and evening programs. All applicants must have reliable transportation and the ability to do light lifting to transport files and other materials as necessary to/from the office and school. This position is expected to be a 12-month salaried, exempt position.
