Too Good for Violence is an interactive prevention program designed to help kids make good decisions and realize that they are too good to engage in violence and bullying. CHC provides developmentally specific Too Good for Violence workshops for grades K-12, reaching over 900 children within the past year. Student participants have shown significant improvement in character-based skills, attitudes, and behaviors such as managing emotions, building healthier relationships, resolving conflicts peacefully, and respecting themselves and others.

OUR MISSION: To engage members of our community in opportunities to prepare for
life’s challenges through delivery of prevention education, life skills training, and programs that encourage healthy decision-making, positive choices and peaceful living.

"ACCENT THE POSITIVE" FOR 2012!!

Make 2012 the best year yet! Make positive choices and changes! Here's what the Australian Publication: "Body + Soul"* suggests you do:

1) Choose positive relationships. Avoid those who bring negativity into your life. You deserve better!

2) Write down your goals. Decide how to make them happen. If not, brainstorm ways to make things better for yourself. Try a different approach!

3) Make time for yourself: Schedule a time to do something you really enjoy. A little alone time does wonders for your mental health. You deserve it!

4) Become congruent: Be honest about your goals and feelings. Talk with friends and family. Sharing will help alleviate the burden.

5) Don't feel guilty: Guilt is a waste of emotion. You can not change the past only the future. Guilt will only keep you from being happy today. Learn from the past and create a better future!

6) Ban the word "should": Remove "should" and replace it with "If I really wanted to I could...". You'll feel less guilty and be better able to decide what you really want to do and when & how to do it.
