The second half of a man's life is made up of nothing but the habits he has acquired during the first half. --Fyodor Dostoevsky
Underage drinking, smoking and other drug use are important concerns for both the individual and for society as a whole. They can harm the mind and body of a growing teen in ways many people don't realize. And the problem is pervasive: On an average day, nearly 8,000 teens drink alcohol for the first time--a much higher number than teens who begin smoking or trying illegal drugs. In addition, approximately 4,000 young people between the ages of 12 and 17 years start smoking cigarettes. |
